These terms are an agreement between you and [Company legal name] ("Voxy", "we", "us", "our"). They cover the Voxy app for Mac, the Voxy website at [Website address] including its live demo, Voxy accounts, and the services behind them (together, "Voxy").
By downloading, installing, or using Voxy, or by creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Voxy.
These terms work together with our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and Cookie Policy.
1. Who can use Voxy
- You must be at least [Minimum age: e.g. 13] years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. If you are under the age of adulthood where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
- If you use Voxy for an organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it, and "you" includes that organization.
- You may not use Voxy if the law forbids you from doing so.
2. Your account
- You need a Voxy account to dictate. Give us a real email address that you control.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Each account is for one person. Do not share your account or let others sign in as you.
- Tell us at [support@yourdomain] straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
3. Your licence to use the Mac app
What you may do. Subject to these terms, we give you a personal, limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable licence to download, install, and use the Voxy app on Macs that you own or control, for your own personal use or your internal business use.
What you may not do. You may not, and may not help anyone else to:
- copy the app, except as needed to install it and keep a backup;
- sell, rent, lease, lend, sublicense, distribute, or publish the app;
- modify the app or make works based on it;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
- remove or change any notices, labels, or branding;
- get around any technical limit, usage limit, account check, or install check, or use the app's access to our servers from anything other than the app;
- use the app or Voxy to build a competing product or service.
Updates. We may release updates that fix problems, change features, or keep Voxy working with our servers. Some updates may be needed to keep using Voxy.
Open source. The app includes open source software. Those components are licensed under their own terms, which apply to them and are listed at [Open source notices link]. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences.
Ownership. The app is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors own Voxy, including the app, the website, the Voxy name, logo, and designs. These terms do not give you any rights in them except the licence above.
4. The website and the live demo
- The live demo lets you try Voxy in your browser. It is free, provided as it is, and meant only for trying Voxy.
- Each demo take can be up to 45 seconds, and we limit how many takes can be made from one network in a given time. We may change, limit, pause, or remove the demo at any time.
- Do not use the demo as a transcription service, run it with scripts or other automated tools, or try to get around its limits.
- When you use your microphone in the demo, your audio and the text made from it pass through our servers to our speech and language processing providers to produce the result. We do not store them. Please do not speak information into the demo that you would not want processed this way.
- You may view and use the website for personal, noncommercial purposes. Do not copy, scrape, or reuse its content, design, or code without our written permission.
5. How Voxy works
- Voxy needs an internet connection. To write your words, the app sends your audio and related text to our servers, which use our speech and language processing providers. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is sent and what is kept.
- We may change the providers and technology behind Voxy at any time, as long as we keep to the Privacy Policy.
- Voxy may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or an outage. Voxy is designed to tell you plainly when it cannot write and to keep the audio of a failed take on your Mac so you can retry it, but we cannot promise that Voxy will always be available or that no words will ever be lost.
6. Your content
- "Your content" means what you say into Voxy and the text Voxy writes for you, along with your notes and dictionary.
- You own your content. We do not claim any ownership of it.
- You give us permission to process your content only as needed to provide Voxy to you: to send it to our servers and providers, produce your text, and return it to you. This permission ends when processing is complete. We do not store your content on our servers, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence models.
- You are responsible for your content, and for having any rights and permissions it needs. If you dictate or record other people, it is up to you to get any consent the law requires.
7. Check what Voxy writes
Voxy uses automated speech and language processing, which can make mistakes. It can mishear words, misread names, translate Urdu or mixed speech into English imperfectly, or change the meaning of what you said.
Always read Voxy's text before you send it or rely on it, especially for medical, legal, financial, safety, or other important matters. Voxy is not a certified transcription or translation service.
8. Acceptable use
You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. In short: use Voxy lawfully, respect other people, and do not misuse or attack Voxy.
9. Fees and payment
Voxy is currently [Current availability: e.g. free during early access].
[Pricing and billing terms: plans, prices, billing cycle, taxes, renewals, cancellation, and refunds, to be added when pricing is decided.]
We will tell you clearly before you have to pay for anything that is currently free, and we will never charge you without your agreement.
10. Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve Voxy without paying you or owing you anything. You do not have to send us feedback.
11. Other apps and services
Voxy pastes text into other apps you use. Those apps, and any services they connect to, are run by others under their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for them or for what happens to text once it is in them.
12. Changes to Voxy and to these terms
- We may add, change, or remove features of Voxy over time.
- We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Voxy after the change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using Voxy.
13. Ending your use of Voxy
- You can stop using Voxy at any time by signing out and removing the app. To delete your account, email [privacy@yourdomain] from the email address on your account.
- We may suspend or end your access to Voxy, including by revoking your account or an install, if you break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if your use creates a risk or harm for Voxy, our providers, or others, or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
- We may stop offering Voxy altogether. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice where we can.
- When your access ends, your licence to use the app ends too. Sections 3 (ownership), 6, 7, 10, and 14 to 18 continue to apply.
14. Disclaimers
Voxy is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises or warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including that Voxy will be accurate, uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose, or that it will meet your needs.
Some places do not allow these exclusions. If you are a consumer, you may have rights under the law that these terms cannot change, and nothing in these terms affects them.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to Voxy or these terms;
- our total liability for all claims arising from or related to Voxy or these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Voxy in the 12 months before the claim and [Liability cap: e.g. USD 50].
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
16. Indemnity
If you use Voxy for business, you agree to defend and compensate us for claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) brought by others that arise from your content, your misuse of Voxy, or your breach of these terms, to the extent the law allows.
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [Governing law: e.g. Pakistan], without regard to its rules on conflicts of law. Any dispute will be handled by [Jurisdiction: e.g. the courts of Lahore, Pakistan], unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us at [support@yourdomain] so we can try to resolve it together.
18. General
- Whole agreement. These terms, together with the policies they mention, are the whole agreement between you and us about Voxy.
- If part is invalid. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a part of these terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Transfer. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our permission. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Events beyond our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Export laws. You agree to follow the export and sanctions laws that apply to your use of Voxy.
- Language. These terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version applies if there is a conflict.
- Notices. We may send you notices by email or in the app. You can send notices to us at [support@yourdomain].
